The Windcatcher AirPad 2 has all the features of a regular sleeping pad, but takes those features and makes them a bazillion times better. The major difference between the Windcatcher and other conventional sleeping pads? The Windcatcher valve. This valve allows the pad to inflate in seconds ( it took us 20!), you never have to touch it with your mouth, it blows up to 4 inches thick, and it takes seconds to pack it up. And it only weighs 1 lb 14 oz.
HOW IT WORKS
Using a phenomenon called entrainment, when you blow into the Windcatcher valve, your breath is amplified ten times, pulling in more of the surrounding air to speed up the inflation process. Make sure to hold the pad 2 inches away from your mouth when inflating for best results.
Deflating the air pad is just as easy. The Windcatcher valve is able to reverse, and the air is pulled out of the pad without you doing anything. Then you fold and roll. The valve doubles as a carrying case, so don’t worry about trying to stuff the pad in an impossibly small bag.
IMPORTANT
“If you cannot blow out all the candles on your birthday cake in one breath, then Windcatcher is NOT right for you. Windcatcher isn’t magic, it’s science! If it takes you 10 minutes to inflate an air pad of equal size (when blowing into an ordinary valve), it will take you 1 minute with the Windcatcher valve. If you’re like me and it normally takes 3 minutes, you’ll be able to inflate the Windcatcher AirPad 2 in 18 seconds.”
