G-1000 Technical Apparel and Hand Crafted Boots

When creating new apparel, Fjällräven founder Åke Nordin has implemented these 3 principles since 1960: functionality, durability, and dependability. The companies muse, and what their name means in Swedish is the Arctic Fox; a small and highly adaptable predator that survives in harsh conditions in the Swedish mountains.

Hanwag started in the 1920’s by Hans Wagner in Vierkirchen, Germany, where its headquarters is still found. Hans was a master of double stitching, a rare process for making boots that is still carried on today by Hanwag. In 2004 the company was purchased by Fenix Outdoor AB, who also owns Fjallraven. It was a perfect match because of the high standard that both of the companies uphold.

Eco-Shell 3-layer stretch fabric makes up the Keb Eco-Shell trousers. The outer layer is recycled polyester treated with fluorocarbon-free impregnation that repels rain, water, sleet, and snow. The next layer is a hydrophilic membrane that is able to keep water from getting in while also transporting body moisture to the outside where it can evaporate. The final layer is a thin polyester lining that makes the garment soft and comfortable against the skin.
